The Federal Union of Wegmat commonly referred to as just Wegmat (/wɛɡmæt/), is a sovereign nation surrounded by Western Chicago and bordered by the United States, the Chaveleir Republic, Weimar, Levare, and Ephraim. Wegmat is considered a micronation which is a political entity that declares to be independent. Wegmat is 1,724 acres or 6 sq.KM and made up of 13 provinces, 1 autonomous province, and 2 territories. Multiple animals are offered full citizenship including humans, dogs, cats, beavers foxes, and deer. The official language of Wegmat is English. Other spoken languages include Finnish and Spanish.
Wegmat was made an idea on 17 October 2018 and declared independence on 30 November of the same year. The nation only included New Finland and the 1st ward of Two Pine. On April 4 2019 the nation redrafted the constitution and claimed new lands, including Cenwister, Essef, and Gliffork. In August of the same year, the Weg Parliament Passed the Deer and Other Species Citizenship Act greatly expanding Weg Territory and citizenship. In October a conflict began in Bobbygrad to combat the NWR, a former domestic terrorist group in Wegmat. In January New Germany was declared as a break away from Wegmat and reunited in October of 2020. In July 2020 the nation received the new territories past 1st Avenue to the Lawrence Line was used for it's natural resources.
In March of 2021, the Great Des Plaines Valley War broke out making up most of 2021. The war ended in August along with the northern territories becoming developed. Wegmat is a Presidential Federal Republic. The president is elected and may appoint a Prime Minister. The President represents the Weg people and is the head of state. The Prime Minister is the Head of Government and the Head seat in Parliament and the cabinet. Life in Wegmat is like life in the US and Canada as the culture heavily derives from there.
